Gökçe Kınay

Gökçe Kınay was born in Çanakkale in 1992 and graduated from the Department of Painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2018. Besides the Hitay Holding Art Award, Kınay has taken part in many group exhibitions. From 2013 to 2018 Kınay worked as an assistant in the studio of the painter Devrim Erbil. Kınay has begun a master's program in the Department of Painting at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and continues to work at Muse, the artist's own studio.

The desire to create my own landscape within my own roots is what makes my recent work possible. I take the moments when elements of color, form, and texture that affect me come together, pass them through the filter of my own taste, and bring what remains to the viewer in the works I make. When reflecting my impressions through a single window, like a photograph, was no longer enough for me, I turned to a panoramic series in which I challenge the viewer's point of view. In these wide landscapes, sometimes painted on a single sheet of paper and sometimes on separate panels or sheets, I have expressed my admiration for particular places.
