Statement

While focusing on the relationship between the art object and space, my works aim to reflect on what an art object can be.

In works that took shape after research into how viewers perceive and define art objects, the effect of the material as it creates the form is preserved. For this reason, undefined, amorphous forms generally make up most of my work. The surfaces of these pieces, which have no particular shape, carry references to places (space). These references, which begin with transferring onto the surface the sketches I make of places I have visited, emphasize the relationship between space and object. This leads me to think about a duality such as whether the object should be in the space or the space in the object. In addition, these sketches, which also find a place in my paintings, over time form the first stages of my watercolors, in which I build my own cities.
