Artists › Mustafa Karyağdı
Born in Konya in 1961, Mustafa Karyağdı graduated from the Department of Painting of the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts. Karyağdı taught in the Department of Painting at Marmara University’s Atatürk Faculty of Education from 1996 to 2013, then took up a teaching post in the Department of Plastic Arts at Yeditepe University. Karyağdı’s paintings question how the image is perceived and how its meaning shifts over time, using familiar iconography as if it were a visual text. Karyağdı has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions and lives in Istanbul.
