Ruken Aslan is a painter and academic. Aslan completed a master's degree in the Painting Program at Hacettepe University in 2002 with research on the problem of reality in abstract painting, and a Proficiency in Art degree in the Painting Program at Marmara University in 2007 examining the romantic attitude in the plastic arts. Aslan has published on subjects such as utopia in Surrealism, the image of the forest in Max Ernst's paintings, and Anselm Kiefer's landscapes.
