Seyyit Bozdoğan was born in Kozan in 1941. Bozdoğan studied stage design, costume, and painting at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, and from 1968 to 1973 worked in Hann Trier's studio at the Berlin State Academy of Fine Arts, becoming a Meisterschüler. Bozdoğan worked for a time as a set designer at the Istanbul Opera; in 2007 Bozdoğan joined Işık University, Faculty of Fine Arts, as a faculty member and in 2012 received the title of associate professor. In paintings that look abstract at first glance, Bozdoğan treats the human body and nature as intertwined and often places the figures implicitly.
